Matti La Mela

Bio

Matti La Mela is an Associate Professor (docent) in Digital Humanities at the Department of ALM. His background is in social science history, and he has broad experience in interdisciplinary digital humanities research, including projects such as the Swedish Historical Patent Infrastructure or ParliamentSampo, a linked open data infrastructure of Finnish parliamentary data. La Mela’s recent work has focused on history of innovation in transnational and multilingual contexts, the application of ML/AI in historical research, and property rights on nature (allemansrätten).
